Abstract

Objective To study the cellular localiazation and the expression of connective tissue growth factor(CTGF)in experimental hepatic fibrosis. Methods Thirty-eight female wistar rats were randomly divided into the normal control group and model group. The model group then was randomly divided into 4 equal groups respective. The mode group was made with carboan tetrachloride. At the end of theexperiment, rats were killed under pyrogen-free technic for collection of blood and liver tissue for pathology and histology examination. The intensity of the express of CTGF protein in liver tissure were assessed. Results The expression levels of CTGF were higher in hepatic fibros group than those in control group. They were closely associated with hepatic fibrosis development(P 0.05).Conclusion The expression of CTGF is remarkably up-regulated in hepatic fibrosis. This result indicates that CTGF plays an important role in the activation and domination of hepatic fibrosis.
