A Randomized Controlled Trial of Acupuncture Association with Pharmacotherapy in Treatment of Eczema

Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of acupuncture associated with pharmacotherapy on eczema.Methods A total of 63 cases of eczema were randomly divided into group A(31 cases)and group B(32 cases).The patients in group A were treated with acupuncture associated with pharmacotherapy continuously for one month.Subjects in group B were treated with Qinzhu Liangxue Decoction(QZLXD),a compound traditional Chinese herbal medicine,twice a day continuously for one month.The total score of symptom was calculated before and after treatment in terms of itching degree,lesion shape and lesion area,and the level of eosinophil and IgE was checked out in the evaluation of the clinical efficacy of the combined treatment on eczema.Results Comparing discrepancy of the symptom scores before and after treatment between these two groups,the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).Before and after treatment between these two groups,the discrepancy of the level of eosinophil showed no statistically difference(P0.05),and IgE showed statistically difference(P0.05).Conclusion In terms of improving symptom scores and lower the level of IgE,the combined treatment of acupuncture and pharmacotherapy on eczema is better than pharmacotherapy.At the same time,these two groups take considerably effect on reducing the level of eosinophil.
