Abstract

Using AlCl3as catalyst,N-cyanoethyl-p-methyl aniline was synthesized from p-methyl aniline and acrylonitrile.Each factor of reaction was studied.The result of the experiments showed that the optimum reaction conditions were:n(acrylonitrile):n(p-methyl aniline) =1.2:1,the catalyst dosage was 10% of the p-methyl aniline,the reaction temperature was 68~70℃ and the reaction time for 24h.The yield of the target product was over 89.4% with the purity over 94%.
