Abstract

The paper statistics the usage of the first personal pronouns 吾 and 我 in ancient books,such as Shang Shu,Zhuangzi,Zuo zhuan.And discusses the discrimination between 吾 and 我.They are dissimilar slightly in grammatical functions and pragmatics.The usage frequency of 吾 exceeds 我 gradually at last.
