To observe the effect of using limbal stemcells autografe transplantation combined with mitomycin C in the treatment of pterygium.

Objective To observe the effect of using limbal stermcells autograft transplantation combined with mitomycin C in the treatment of pterygium.Methods We used limbal stermcells transplantation combined with mitomycin C in 132 eyes of 121 patients,the follow - up time after surgery ranged from 6 to 36 months.Results 4 eyes of 2 patients developed pterygium in 8 months after surgery,and 3 eyes of 3 patients had pterygium in 13 months after surgery,the recurrence rate was 5.3%.Conclusion The limbal stermcells autograft transplantation combined with mitomycin C in pterygium surgery can effectively decline the post operative recurrence rate,and is the ideal operation method in the treatment of pterygiunm.
