Abstract

The main spans of Yamen Bridge are designed as a prestressed concrete cablestayed bridge of twin pylons and single cable plane with the spans arranged as (50+115+338+115+50) m and with their piers, pylons and girder rigidly connected. The bridge is unique in design and is notable for quite a few new workmanship and new techniques used in the construction. In this paper, the foundation construction, superstructure construction schemes and procedures and the principal construction technique features and difficulties of the bridge are expounded.
