Abstract

Wuhu Changjiang River Bridge is a rail-cum-road bridge composed of steel truss girders and concrete slabs. The bridge proper is a cable-stayed bridge with a main span of 312 m and it is quite structurally new. In the construction of the bridge, numerous new techniques and workmanship were applied. In this paper, construction organization of the overall bridge, workmanship of deep-water foundation construction, construction methods for pylons, precasting, storage, transportation and installation of deck slabs, and erection techniques of long-span continuous steel truss girder and cable-stayed bridges are presented.
