Abstract

Objective: To develop gas chromatography method for determination of the residual organic solvents in procaterol. Methods: The samples were injected into Agilent INNOWax capillary column.and analysed with FID detector using acetonitrile as the internal standard. Results: The linear ranges of hexane, ethyl acetate and pyridine were 0~464 μg/mL(r=0.999 9),0~800 μg/mL(r=0.999 8)and 0~32 μg/mL(r=0.999 3),respectively.The recoveries were 99.8 %,100.5 %,and 101.3 % with RSD 0.96 %,1.38 %,and 2.18 %(n=9),respectively.Conclusion: The method is simple, accurate and sensitive with good reproducibility. It can be used for determination of the residual organic solvents in procaterol.
