A study on personality of the freshmen in the military university

Objective To evaluate the personality of the freshmen in the military university and concrete a solid ground for the psychological consultation in military universities. Methods EPQ was used to investigate 1 385 freshmen from a military college of air forces, 1 282 (92.56%) papers were collected. Results The scores in terms of E, N, L were significantly different from the national norm (P0.01). The scores in terms of E, L were significantly different between the students from cities and rural areas(P0.01) and so the scores in terms of E, P, L were significantly different between those who are only child in the family and not (P0.01 or 0.05). Conclusion The personality of the freshmen from the military school is characterized by extroversion and emotional stability and honest. By contrast, the students from cities and from only child families are more direct and extrovert than those from rural areas and non-only child families.
