Abstract
Objective To observe the changes in levels of serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 in elderly patients with hyperuricemia, and to explore its significance. Methods We selected 51 cases of patients with hyperuricemia( group A) and 259 cases of patients with normal serum uric acid( group B). Venous blood sample were obtained to determine the serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 level by enzyme immunoassay analysis method as well as serum uric acid, fasting blood glucose( FBG),total cholesterol( TC),triglycerides( TG),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol( LDL-C),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol( HDL-C). Blood pressure, body weight, body height and BMI were measured and calculated. Results Serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 level in the group A was( 33. 02 ± 11. 60) nmol / L,and serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 level in the group B was( 37. 77 ± 14. 5) nmol / L( P 0. 05); the proportion of inadequate and lack serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 levels in the two groups was significant different( P 0. 05). Serum uric acid level was positively correlated with BMI and TG( r = 0. 216,0. 184,respectively; all P 0. 001),and negatively correlated with HDL-C and serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 level( r =- 0. 282,- 0. 114,respectively; all P 0. 05). Conclusion Serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 level is low in elderly patients with hyperuricemia, and the low serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 level may be a risk factor in the pathogenesis of hyperuricemia.
