Abstract
Distributed optical fiber sensing based on Brillouin scattering has drawn great attention. Its basic principles are introduced briefly. The developments of distributed optical fiber sensing based on Brillouin scattering are summarized.Since various technologies have different structure, the basic principles and research developments of Brillouin Optical Time Domain Reflectometer(BOTDR),Brillouin Optical Time Domain Analysis(BOTDA),Brillouin Optical Correlation Domain Analysis(BOCDA),Brillouin Optical Frequency Domain Analysis(BOFDA)are analyzed in detail respectively, the latest progresses are also introduced.Developing directions and the prospects on this field are discussed.
