Abstract
Beginning with the principles and features of optical time domain re?ectometry,this paper introduces the characteristics,functions and classifications of distributed optical fiber sensing technology,and the current progress and developing trend based on Brillouin scattering.It discusses the distributed optical fiber sensing technology based on Brillouin optical time domain reflectometer,Brillouin optical time domain analysis,Brillouin optical frequency domain analysis,Brillouin optical coherent domain analysis and Brillouin optical coherent domain reflectometer.The characteristics and existing problems among these five kinds of sensing technology are compared and analyzed,and the developing direction of distributed optical fiber sensing technology based on Brillouin scattering is also pointed out in the paper.
