Abstract
Distributed optic fiber sensors based on Brillouin scattering have broad prospects in structural health monitoring. The principles were described, the latest development of the sensing technologies based on Brillouin optical time domain reflectmetry(BOTDR),Brillouin optical time domain analysis(BOTDA) and Brillouin optical frequency domain analysis (BOFDA) were illustrated. The research hotspots, the present problems as well as the development tendency were also put forward.
