Abstract
Objective: To assess the clinical value of real-time three-dimensional echocardiography(RT-3DE) in evaluating regional left ventricular systolic function and synchrony in patients with old myocardial infarction(OMI).Methods: RT-3DE was performed on 32 patients with OMI(the myocardial infarction group) and 20 normal subjects(the control group). The three-dimensional image data was analyzed with QLAB software. The regional ejection fraction(REF),the difference(Dif) and standard deviation(SD) of the time to minimal systolic volume(Tmsv) in 16,12 and 6 segments were obtained and normalized by R-R interval(TmsvSD% and TmsvDif%).Results: Compared with the normal segments in control group, the REF of the myocardial infarction segments decreased significantly, while Tmsv16-SD% and Tmsv16-Dif% increased. Conclusion: RT-3DE can objectively evaluate regional left ventricular systolic function and synchrony in patients with myocardial infarction.
