Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical therapeutic effectiveness of reversal of multidrug resistance(MDR) by cyclosporin A(CsA).Methods The expression of P-170 was assayed in 45 cases of relapsing or refractory acute leukemias. The 30 cases who were P-170 positive were randomly divided into two groups: group for treatment (chemotherapy plus CsA) and control group (chemotherapy alone). Results The incidence of P-170 expression (66.7%) was higher in relapsing or refractory acute leukemias. The effective rates of treatment group and control group were 60.0% and 26.7% respectively(P0.05).Conclusion CsA can reverse drug resistance of refractory acute myeloid leukemia, and was effective for reversal of MDR in relapsing or refractory acute leukemia.
