Abstract
Objective To study the chemical constituents of whole plant of Potentilla multicaulis Bunge. Methods The constituents of the 70% ethanol extract of the whole plant of Potentilla multicaulis Bunge.were isolated and purified by various chromatographic methods. The structures were confirmed on the basis of physico-chemical properties and spectroscopic data. Results Seven compounds were isolated and identified as gallic acid(1),oleanolic acid(2),quercetin(3),2-pyrrolidone(4),1H-azepine-2,4(3H,5H)-dione,dihydro-(5),β-sitosterol(6),β-daucosterol(7).Conclusions Compounds 4 and 5 are isolated from Potentilla for the first time;compouds 17 are isolated from this plant for the first time.
