Abstract
Objective:To investigate relationship between body mass index and fatty liver in healthy persons. Methods:According to the criteria of body mass index and ultrasound diagnostic criteria of fatty liver, the detection rate of fatty liver and the dependablity with the body mass index were analyzed. Results:In 354 examinees,55 were detected to have fatty liver(15.54%);The detection rate in the males was obviously higher than that in the females(P0.01)and the detection rate of fatty liver increased with age;the detection rate of those with body mass index ≥25,was 51.95%(40/77),those ≤25 was 5.42%(15/277),with significant difference(P0.01).The body mass index had a direct proportion with fatty liver(r=0.868,P0.01).Conclusion:There is an obvious dependability between body mass index and the incidence of fatty liver.Weight control is one of the important measures to prevent fatty liver.
