Abstract

Objective: To observe the effects and complications of Nd: YAG laser treatment for postoperative membrane cataract. Methods: Totally 76 patients( 89 eyes) with postoperative membrane cataract were included. All the patients were managed by capsulotomy of the posterior capsule opacity with Nd: YAG laser. The change of visual acuity and complications were observed and followed up for 3 to 6months. Results: After treatments, the posterior capsules in all patients were opened and the visual acuity of 97. 8% patients had improved. Complications include anterior uveitis, transient high intraocular pressure, intraocular lens injury. Conclusions: d: YAG laser capsulotomy is a safe and effective technique for postoperative membrane cataract.
