Abstract

Objective Through the investigation on human health literacy,discussion and analysis of age,gender cultural and economic impact of literacy on the health of residents,to provide evidence for the development of community education initiatives.Methods The multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method was used to interview residents who lived in Foshan aged 15 to 69.Information on sociodemographic factors,health,health behaviors,and basic knowledge mastering skills was collected.Results Mastery rates of basic health knowledge,health behavior and health skills were 64.3%,57.7%,and 60.4%.Multiple linear regression analysis showed that education level and family month average income affected health literacy levels of residents most(P0.01).Conclusion Complex factors affecting population health literacy included education level and family income.Others were gender,age,marital status,and occupation.
