Abstract
Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) is an integral cell-surface membrane glycoprotein that is overexpressed in prostate carcinomas, including hormone-refractory and metastatic diseases. PSMA, therefore, represents an attractive candidate for selectively targeted diagnosis and therapies for prostate carcinomas. The progress of research on PSMA in prostate carcinoma diagnosis and therapy is reviewed.
