Abstract
Objective:To assess the diagnosis value of serum CA125 in carcinoma. Methods: The results of serum CA125 of 2775 patients were studied. Results: The positive rates of serum CA125 in patients with gall hladder cancer, pancreas cancer, ovarian cancer, lung cancer and liver cancer are higher than that in patients with other carcinoma (P0.05). In some serious non-carcinoma diseases, such as organ failure, cirrhosis of liver, tuberculosis with effusion etc. also had very high positive rate of serum CA125. With same disease, the serum CA125 level in patients with effusion was higher than that without effusion (P0.05). Conclusion: Serum CA125 level is helpful for the diagnosis of gall hladder cancer, pancreas cancer, ovarian cancer, lung cancer and liver cancer. But attention should be paid to distinguishing them from cirrhosis and tuberculosis.
