Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of dalitrend in patients with congestive heart failure (CHF). Methods 86 patients with CHF were divided into 2 groups randomly. One group was treated with the routine medicine, including digitalis, diuretics, ACEI and nitrates. Another group was treated with dilatrend in addition to above routine treatment. Dilatrend began from the dosage 3.125 mg b.i.d. and was gradually increased to 25 mg b.i.d. The heart function, heart rate, blood pressure, LVEF, LVDd and LVDs were evaluated by echocardiography and comparison of the data between two groups and between the before and after using dilatrend. Results Comparing with the routine treatment group after 6 months, the patients treated with dilatrend improved better in heart function, such as increase in LVEF, decrease in heart rate and shortening of LVDd and LVDs. Conclusion Treatment of the elderly CHF patients with dilatrend, especially based on the routine therapy could improve the therapeutic efficacy.
