Fluvoxamine Combined with Cognitive Behavior Therapy in Treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

Abstract

Objective To compare the effect of fluvoxamine combined with cognitive behavior therapy in treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder.Methods Totally 55 outpatients who met CCMD-3 for obsessive-compulsive disorder were assigned to therapeutic group(n=28)and control group(n=27) for 6 months.Therapeutic group were given fluvoxamine in addition to cognitive behavior therapy,and control group were given fluvoxamine only.The clinical effect was assessed with Y-BOCS at the end of 1month,2 months,4 months,6 months.Results The therapeutic efficacy in fluvoxamine combined with cognitive behavior therapy group was significantly higher than that in control group.Conclusion Fluvoxamine combined with cognitive behavior therapy has better effect in treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder.
