Checking prescription and analysis unreasonable prescriptions in clinical service and emergency department of our hospital

Objective To improve drug therapy safety,effective and economic and to promote medical staff rational drug use and then to ensure patient's medication safety.Methods A total of 684 912 prescriptions from July 2010 to June 2011 were collected for analysis with prescription automatic screening system(PASS).PASS takes Prescription Management Method,hospital prescription comment management standard(trial implementation),drug instruction and clinical treatment and diagnosis guidline as a basis.Results There were 32 793 unreasonable prescriptions,in which disqualification prescriptions and misuse drug were more serious.Conclusion Checking prescription is an important way to grantee medical safety.It's benefit to improve quality of prescription,promote rational drug use and increase pharmacist professional skills.
