Abstract
Objective To improve the surgical technique of establishing a reliable rat model of orthotopic liver transplantation through analyzing and summarizing the cause of the rates of success and long term survival of the model.Methods 60 cases of orthotopic liver transplantations in rats were performed using modified Kamada’s two-cuff technique.Results The general successful rate was 90.0%(54/60).one-week survival rates was 81.7% (49/60).Conclusions The key for improving success and long term survival rate in rat liver transplantation is to master the meticulous surgical performance and can adopt to some effective steps to remedy.
