Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical value of bronchial artery embolization (BAE)in treatment of acute hemoptysis. Methods A total of 42 patients with acute massive hemoptysis were recruited with bronchial arteriograghy and bronchial artery embolization for retrospective evaluation. Results Among the 42 cases, 35 showed obvious effect and 7 showed medium effect (16.7%) after the treatment. Conclusion BAE has significant clinical value in treatment acute hemoptysis. Superselective BAE is a more safe and effective procedure for treating of patients with hemoptysis.
