Study of Correlation between Tei Index and Left Ventricular Mass in Patients with Heart Failure

Abstract

Objective To explore the correlation of Tei index with left ventricular mass(LVM) in patients with heart failure.Methods Pulsed Doppler echocardiography(PDE) was used to measure left ventricular Tei index in 102 patients with left heart failure and 74 healthy volunteers.Real-time three-dimensional echocardiography(RT3DE) was used to measure LVM and left ventricular mass index(LVMI) in 102 patients with left heart failure,and the correlation of Tei index with LVM and LVMI in patients with heart failure was analyzed.Results Tei index of patients with left heart failure was significantly higher than the normal controls(P 0.05).Tei index positively correlated with LVM and LVMI in patients with left heart failure(P 0.05).Conclusion Tei index is closely related to LVM in patients with left heart failure,and can reflect the left ventricular function in patients with heart failure synthetically.
