Abstract
Objective To investigate the significance of percutaneous nephrostomy drainage under ultrasound guidance in the treatment of acute obstructive renal failure. Methods Data of 52 cases of renal failure treated during June 2005 to June 2010 were retrospectively analyzed. All patients underwent percutaneous nephrostomy drainage under ultrasound guidance. Results The 52 patients underwent 72 percutaneous nephrostomy, with a success rate of 98.6 %(71 times).1~2 weeks after drainage, the renal function recovered in 49 cases and improved in 3 cases. No complications such as bleeding, sepsis, adjacent organs damage were detected. Conclusions Percutaneous nephrostomy drainage under ultrasound guidance can produce satisfactory results in the treatment of acute obstructive renal failure with less trauma and faster effect.
