Abstract

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of Radix Bupleuri Decoction in the acute upper respiratory tract infection.Methods72 cases with acute upper respiratory tract infections with Chinese medicines were randemly divided into two groups:38 cases were treated with Minor Radix Bupleuri Decoction,34 cases were treated with Shuanghuanglian oral liquid as a control. Both of the groups were treated for 3 days, the clinical symptoms such as fever, cough and sore throat were used to evaluate the efficacy of the groups.ResultsBoth of the groups were effective;the effective rate was 89.5%and 70.6%in the Radix Bupleuri group and in the control group, respectively. There was significant difference between two groups(P0.05).ConclusionMinor Radix Bupleuri Decoction has better effect on the acute upper respiratory tract infections.
