Observations on curative effects of Qingdutuire decoction powder(清毒退热散剂) on 480 cases with acute upper respiratory tract infection

Abstract
Objective:To observe the clinically curative effects of Qingdutuire decoction powder(清毒退热散剂)on acute upper respiratory tract infection.Methods:six hundred cases of acute upper respiratory tract infection were randomly divided into two groups.The treated group was treated with Qingdutuire decoction powder (480 patients) and the control group was treated with Yinhuang oral liquid (银黄口服液,120 patients).The changes in symptoms and body temperature of patients were observed before and after treatment by single blind method.Results:The clinical total effective rate of Qingdutuire decoction powder was 98.96% and its cure rate was 85.42%,while those of the control group was 86.67% and 41.67% respectively,significant difference was shown between the two groups (both P0.01).Qingdutuire decoction powder showed significant effect in subsiding fever.Conclusions:Qingdutuire decoction powder has good effect in treating acute upper respiratory tract infection.No adverse effect was found in the clinical trial.
