Abstract
Objective To investigate the surgical method and results o f non-magnetic intraocular foreign bodies extraction in posterior pole.Methods Retrospective review the clinical records of 34 eyes of 31 cases of non-magnetic intraocular foreign bodies treated by vitrectomy.Results Using vitrectomy and non-magnetic intraocular foreign b odiy extraction,foreign bodies were extracted in 32 of the 34 eyes in one time,t he rate was 94.12%.Visual acuity improved in 19 eyes(55.88%),6 eyes remained unc hanged(17.65) and decreased in 9 eyes(26.47%).Conclusion Vitrectomy is an effective methods for extraction no n-magnetic intraocular foreign bodies in post pole and has the characteristics o f easy manipulation,accurate and little trauma.
