Abstract

Objective To explore the Maspin expression and its significance in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods Immunohistochemical method was used to assess the expression of Maspin in 99 cases of NSCLC,and the clinical pathological significance of Maspin expression was evaluated. Results The positive expression rate of Maspin in NSCLC was significantly lower than that in normal lung tissues(P0.05);Maspin expression showed a significant association with pathological type, histologic grade, lymph node metastasis and clinical stage(all P0.05).Cox regression analysis showed that Maspin negativity was an independent risk factor for survival. Conclusion Maspin protein play an important role in the invasion and metastasis of NSCLC,and the expression of Maspin can be used as a predictor of prognosis for NSCLC.
