Prevalence and associated factors of fatty liver in patients with type 2 diabetes

Abstract

Objective To investigate the relationship among fatty liver and obesity, blood pressure, levels of plasma glucose, insulin resistance and serum lipids in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).Methods Altogether 201 in-patients were randomly selected and divided into two groups including 88 patients with diabetes and fatty liver(group A) and 113 with diabetes but no fatty liver (group B), their BMI,FBG,IR and serum lipids were studied.Results The figures of BMI,IR,TG,LDL-C and APO-B in the group with fatty liver were more higher than those in the group without fatty liver(P0.05).Conclusion The occurrence of fatty liver in patients with T2DM is closely related to obesity, insulin resistance, and dyslipidosis.
