Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Nicorandil in the treatment of unstable angina pectoris. Methods 56 patients with unstable angina pectoris were randomly divided into the Treatment Group( 28 cases) and the Control Group( 28 cases). The Treatment Group adopted the conventional medical treatment and an additional treatment of Nicrandil 5 mg tid for eight weeks, while the Control Group adopted the placebo made of starch for replacement of Nicrandil. The experiment adopted double-blind method. Researchers observed and recorded the angina occurrences, duration and nitroglycerin dosage of every patient in both groups every week. Researchers compared the pre-therapy and post-treatment patients' changes on electrocardiograph ST segment during the angina pectoris attack, and observed the occurrences of untoward effects( like headache and hypotension) and serious coronary events. Results The clinical effect in the Treatment Group was superior to that in the Control Group( P 0. 05),and patients in both groups did not show any symptoms of hypertension, arrhythmia and serious coronary events. Conclusion Nicrandil is effective in the treatment of unstable angina pectoris and deserves wide clinical application.
