Abstract
OBJECTIVE To observe the effect of montelukast combined with loratadine in treatment of children with cough variant asthma and its affection on serum IFN-γ and IL-4.METHODS From January 2010 to January 2011,96 cases of children with cough variant asthma were randomly classified into two groups, which observation group with 48 cases was treated with montelukast combined with loratadine and control group with 48 cases was treated with terbutaline combined with ketotifen. The clinical effect and the levels of serum IFN-γ and IL-4 were compared.RESULTS The total effective rate in observation group was 91.7%,which significantly higher than that in control group with 75.0%(P﹤0.05).Compared with pre-treatment,the levels of IL-4 were significantly decreased(P﹤0.05),the levels of IFN-γ were significantly increased(P﹤0.05)after treatment in observation group, while no significant differences in control group(P﹥0.05).Moreover,the levels of IL-4 in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group(P﹤0.05),the levels of IFN-γ were significantly higher than those in control group(P﹤0.05).CONCLUSION Montelukast combined with loratadine in treatment of children with cough variant asthma can enhance clinical effect, increase the levels of IFN-γ and decrease the levels of IL-4,which can be applied in clinic.
