Abstract
Objective The suitable sustained-release microspheres containing ibuprofen were prepared using chitosan and sodium alginate as base material. Methods The L16(45) orthogonal experimental design using the standard of drug encapsulation was applied to optimize the preparation procedure of the microspheres. The complex coacervation method was selected. Results The result show that C(chitosan)=4.0 mg/mL,v=600 r/min,pH=4.5,T=30℃,V(pentanedial)=1.5 mL were the best preparation condition. The average particle size of the microspheres was (31.6±1.7)μm. The average drug envelopment was (64.6±2.2)%. Conclusion The resulting ibuprofen microspheres had good shape, good stability. Drug releasing property of ibuprofen microspheres and the drug releasing performance is good.
