Abstract
ObjectiveTo study the expression of carcinoma-inhibiting protein PTEN and apoptosis inhibition factor Survivin in Bowen's disease.MethodsThe expression and distribution of PTEN and Survivin in the skin lesion and normal skin were detected by immunohistochemical technique streptavidin-peroxidase(SP) in 30 cases of Bowen’s disease and 20 normal skin controls.ResultsThe expression of PTEN was down-regulated in Bowen's disease (P0.001).However,the expression of Survivin was up-regulated(P0.001).The expression of PTEN was negatively correlated with the expression of Survivin (P0.001).ConclusionThe abnormal expression of PTEN and Survivin may contribute to the oncogenesis of Bowen’s disease.
