Abstract

Objective To compare the effect and side effect with tramadol and lornoxicam used for patient controlled intravenous analgesia .Methods 60 adult patients which scheduled for elective craniotomy with general anesthesia were randomly divided into two groups with 30 patients in each group. When they awaked in the recovery room ,they received drugs by titration to achieve analgesia。Group lornoxicam (group L),continuous infusion 0.4 mg/h,PCA bolus 2 mg,lockout time 30 min; group tramadol (group Q),continuous infusion 2.5 mg/h,PCA bolus 12.5 mg,lockout time 30 min.VAS,Ramesay sedation score,Glasgow Score of the patients as well as side effects were observed.Total consumption of analgesic, the number of demand and delivery were also recorded. Results Ramesay,Glasgow showed no difference between two groups. The rates of postoperative vomiting of group Q were higher than that of group L.Conclusion Lornoxicam can provide the same and satisfied effect in postcraniotomy PCIA,the rate of vomitting in patients was lower than that of tramadol PCIA.
