Abstract
Objective:To investigate the expression of Survivin and its clinicopathologic significance in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma(ESCC). Methods: The immunohistochemistry assay was used to measure the expression of Survivin in 80 cases of ESCC and 40 normal esophageal tissues. Results: The positive rates of Survivin expressions were 65% in ESCC, and negative rates were found in all normal esophageal tissues. The positive expressions of Survivin had a positive correlation with the degrees of differentiation, lymph node metastasis and clinical stages. Conclusions: Survivin was more highly expressed in ESCC than in normal esophageal tissues, which may be involved in the Carcinogenesis and development process of ESCC.
