Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical effectiveness of hemoperfusion combined with hemodialysis on the stubborn itch of skin due to uremia. Methods One hundred uremia patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis were randomly divided into two groups:series group(n=50,given hemodialysis combined with hemoperfusion twice a mouth)and control group(n=50,treated with hemodialysis alone;meanwhile, emulsifying agent external use and antihistamine drug taken orally to alleviate the itch).De- coagulant:heparin;the blood flow volume:200 mL/min;flow rate:500 mL/min;dialysate:bicarbonate.The course of treatment was three months. The levels of Scr and Bun were measured before and after treatment.Plasma level of parathyroid hormone (PTH)was measured with radioimmunoassay. The glomerular filtration rate(GFR)and dialysis time were compared between the two groups. Results The clearance rate of PTH and remission rate of skin itch were significantly higher in series group than those in control group[(51.1±4.28)% vs(15.9±5.27)%,92.0% vs 20.0%,respective].The difference in the clearance rate was statistically significant before and after treatment in series group, whereas insignificant in control group. Conclusion Combined treatment of hemoperfusion and hemodialysis can effectively eliminate PTH,relieve the skin itch;single hemodialysis has no above effects.
