Abstract

Forty species of Spirurata belonging to 11 families and 22 genera were collected in Pujian Province during the years 1963-1966,from 8 species of fishes,1 species of reptiles,22 species of birds and 9 species of mammals.Among the 40 species,10 are described to be new to science, diagnoses of which are given as follows.1.Tropisurus (G.) aegypii,sp.nov.(fig.1)Habitat:Crop of Aegypius monachus (Linnaeus). This species differs from the related T.(0.) sobolevi Gubanov,1950,chiefly in the length of spicules (L.S.0.48-0.56mm,R.S.0.175-0.192 mm as against L.S.2.12mm,R.S.0.233mm) and the number of the postanal papillae (5-6 pairs of submedian papillae and 3 pairs of small spines on the lateral side of the subterminal end of the tail as against 6 pairs of submedian papillae and 2 pairs of small sessile papillae close into a group near the tip of the tail).2.Cyrnea (P.) aptera,sp.nov.(fig.2)Habitat:Proventriculus of Ninox s.scutulata (Raffles).Species differs from the related to Cyrnea (P.) dollfusi Mawson,1968 in the length of left spicule (1.2mm asagainst 1.35mm),the absence of barbs at the distal end,in the position of vulva (post-equatorial in contrast to pre-equatorial),and also in the form of gubernaculum (triangle in shape instead of being irregular in form).3.Rhabdochona synechogobii,sp.nov.(fig.3)Habitat:Intestine of Synechogobius ommaturus (Richardson). This species differs from the related Rh.chodukini Osmanov,1957 chiefly in the number of preanal papillae (10 pairs as against 6-8 pairs) and the right spicule being short,scoop-shaped,with blunt barbs at the distal end,and also in the tip of tail of female being rounded, without a cuticular cap-like structure.4.Rhabdochona parasiluri,sp.nov.(fig.4)Habitat:Intestine of Parasilurus asotus Linnaeus and Xenocypris argentea Gun-ther.This species differs from the related Rh.elegans Travassos,Artigis et Pereira,1928 chiefly in the length of the body (3.2-4.6 mm in male and 6.8-7.4mm in female as against 12-13 mm in male and 22-28 mm in female) and in the length of spieules (L.S.0.24-0.29 mm,E.S.0.12-0.124 mm in contrast to L,S.0.423-0.446 mm,R.S.0.138-0.146mm),and also in the size of eggs (33-35 by 21-22μ as against 48 by 18μ).5.Rusguniella (Rusgunioides) numenii,sp.nov.(fig.5)Habitat:Gizzard of Numenius phaeopus variegatus (Scap.)This species differs from the related R.(Rugunioides) panamensis Williams,1929 chiefly in the shape of the tail in female (digitiform, and being smooth instead of having 2 pairs of subterminal papillae),in the size of eggs (40-44 by 25-26μ as against 46.9-51.2 by 22.0-123.7 n),and also in the presence of 6 pairs of preanal and 5 pairs of postanal papillae in this worm.6.Syncuaria longialula,sp.nov.(tig.6)Habitat:Gizzard of Podieeps c.caspicus (Hablizi). This species differs from the related S.ciconae (Gilbert,1927) in the length of the spicules (L.S.0.506-0.560 mm,E.S.0.146-0.154mm,in the ratio of 3.6:1 from left to right,as against L.S.0.755mm,E.S.0.155mm in the ratio of 4.9:1),and also in the size of eggs (25-28 by 21-22μ as against 33 by 19μ).7.Pectinospiruea tringae,sp.nov.(fig.7)Habitat:Gizzard of Tringa nebularia (Gunnerus). This species differs from the related P.multidentata Sobolev,1943 chiefly in the subventral surface of the caudal region ornamented with longitudinal striations, thus giving an undulated appearance, and in the number of the anal papillae (3 pairs of preanal and 5 pairs of postanal papillae as against 4 pairs of preanal and 4 pairs of postanal papillae),and also in the length of the left spieule (0.828mm in contrast to 0.729mm.)8.Acuaria crypsirinae,sp.nov.(fig.8)Habitat:Gizzard of Crypsirina formosae sinica (Stresemann). This species differs from the related A.pattoni Willianus,1929 chiefly in the body size of the male (7.2 by 0.176mm as against 4.05 by 0.156mm),in the size of the spieule (L.S.0.192×0.035 mm,E.S.0.156×0.021mm in contrast to L.S.0.156×0.02mm,E.S.0.155×0.012mm),and also in the number of the postanal papillae (5.5 pairs of asymmetrical papillae as against 6 pairs of symmetrical papillae).9.Acuaria cissae,sp.nov.(f
