Clinical Study of Scalp and Body Acupuncture Combination for Treatment of Stroke Hemiplegia Patients

Objective: To study the scalp and body acupuncture combination for treatment of stroke hemiplegia patients and explore its mechanism. Methods: 60 patients were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group,30 cases per group. The treatment group was given scalp and body acupuncture treatment while the control group was simply treated with body acupuncture. The treatment was conducted once a day,5 times a week for 4 weeks. After the treatment,the curative effect was assessed. Results: The total effective rate of the treatment group was 96. 7% while that of the control group was 90. 0%. The difference of the two groups was statistically significant( P 0. 05). The treatment group improved better than the control group( P 0. 05) in terms of illness and more obvious than the control group( P 0. 05) in terms of their daily living ability. The neurological deficit symptoms of the two groups improved after the treatment( P 0. 01),but the treatment group was more significant( P 0. 05). Conclusion: The scalp and body acupuncture combination can improve clinical symptoms and signs of the stroke hemiplegia patients and more effectively improve the patients' daily life ability,and thus improve the quality of life of the patients,and is one of effective methods for stroke hemiplegia treatment.
