Clinical Study on Scalp Acupuncture with Drawing-lifting Manipulation for Post-stroke Hemiplegia

Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical effect of scalp acupuncture with drawing-lifting manipulation for post-stroke hemiplegia.Method Sixty patients with post-stroke hemiplegia were randomized into a treatment group and a control group according to their visiting sequence,30 in each.The treatment group was intervened by scalp acupuncture with drawing-lifting manipulation,and the control group was by routine body acupuncture.After a treatment course,the modified Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA) was adopted to evaluate motor function,the Modified Bathel Index(MBI) for assessing activity of daily living(ADL).Result The FMA and MBI scores were markedly improved after treatment in both groups after treatment(P0.05).After treatment,the FMA and MBI scores in the treatment group were significantly different from that in the control group(P0.05).Conclusion Scalp acupuncture with drawing-lifting manipulation is an effective approach in treating post-stroke hemiplegia.
