Abstract

Four levels of simulate grazing intensity(light, moderate, high and extreme) were designed in Zhaosu Horse Farm to study the effect of simulate grazing intensity on regrowth capability of Stipa capillata in terms of variation in regrowth speed, regrowth biomass and rate. The result showed that with the grazing season change, regrowth speed, regrowth biomass and regrowth rate of S.capillata was reduced. The effect of regrowth duration and grazing intensity on regrowth biomass and regrowth rate was significant. In spring, with the increasing grazing intensity, regrowth speed was the highest under moderate grazing with the highest biomass and regrowth rate.
