Abstract

The research was about the effects of the different grazing intensities on the regrowth characteristic of the herbage in the border of crop and range regions in north China. The results were:The regrowth speed and yield of smooth bromegrass and Russian wildrye were highest,of alfalfa was lower and of crested wheatgrass was the worst of them. The regrowth yield of Russian wildrye and smooth bromegrass was highest under heavy grazing. However, the regrowth yield of alfalfa and crested wheatgrass was higher under light grazing. The regrowth characteristic of the herbage was related with the regrowth season, which was higher in the first grazing period than that of the second.
