Abstract
Objective To investigate the correlation between 6 SNPs on tumor necrosis factor gene and essential hypertension(EH) in Han Chinese in Henan province.Methods Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP) was used to evaluate the gene polymorphisms including TNF-α-238GA,-308GA,-850CT,-857CT,-863CA gene and TNF-β+252GA gene in 260 unrelated EH patients(EH group) and 394 healthy population(control group).Results The frequencies of the GA+AA genotype and allele of TNF-α-308GA in EH patients were significantly higher than those in health control group(χ2=6.407 and χ2=4.781,all P0.05),in EH patients,the SBP,DBP,HDL,LDL,UA and FGB values were significant difference between the GA+AA genotype and GG genotype subgroups(P0.05).There was no significant difference in genotype and allelic frequency of the TNF-α-238GA,-850CT,-857CT,-863CA gene and TNF-β+252GA polymorphism between healthy subjects and EH patients.Conclusion The TNF-α-308GA gene polymorphism is positively correlated with EH of Han Chinese in Henan.And the TNF-α-238GA,-850CT,-857CT,-863CA gene and TNF-β+252GA gene polymorphism is not associated with the susceptibility to EH.
