Abstract

Compare with other contemporary novels,Qian Zhongshu's novel Fortress Besieged has showed very obvious rational quality.This is due to Chinese cultural tradition's influence and Qian Zhongshu's creative accept or reject to the non-rationalism of western society.In the novel,this rational quality is mainly showed with the appearance of omnipotent narrator,the writer's pursue of philosophical quality and the coexist of modern theme and traditional narrative pattern.
