Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical effect of bi-level positive airway pressure non-invasive ventilation on acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) with type Ⅱ respiratory failure. Methods 85 cases of patients with acute exacerbation of COPD and type Ⅱ respiratory failure were randomly divided into two groups, the 44 patients of treatment group and the 41 patients of control group were both treated with conventional therapy, and the treatment group was given bi-level positive airway pressure non-invasive ventilation on basis of conventional therapy. Results The heart rate, respiratory rate, GSC scores, arterial blood gas and the treatment success rate of treat ment group were better than control group, the difference was statistically significant ( P0.05). Conclusion Bi-level positive airway pressure non-invasive ventilation has a reliable curative effect in COPD with type Ⅱ respiratory failure.
