Observation of effects of paroxetine combined olanzapine in treatment of perimenopausal depression

Objective:To observe effects of paroxetine combined with small dose of olanzapine in treatment of perimenopausal depression.Methods:72 patients with perimenopausal depression random were divided into paroxetine with small dose of olanzapine treatment group( treatment group,n = 36) and paroxetine treatment group( control group,n = 36).For the two groups,there were no differences in gender,age,course and HAMD scores,etc.( P 0.05).The effects were evaluated with HAMD and TESS before and 2 and 6 weeks after the treatment.Results:The HAMD score of treatment group after the treatment was significantly lower than that before the treatment( P 0.01),while the HAMD score of control group obviously decreased 2 weeks after the treatment( P 0.05) and significantly decreased 6 weeks after the treatment( P 0.01).2 and 6 weeks after the treatment,the HAMD scores of treatment group decreased significantly than those of control group( P 0.05).6 weeks after the treatment,the effective rates of treatment group and control group were 86.1% and 63.8%,respectively.The adverse reactions of the two groups were mainly dizziness,fatigue,sleepiness and so on,and the TESS score between the two groups had no obvious difference 2 and 6 weeks after the treatment( P 0.05).Conclusions:In the treatment of perimenopausal depression,paroxetine combined with small dose of olanzapine are better than paroxetine in the effects and works faster.Moreover,the adverse reactions are generally mild,which is beneficial to improve patient compliance.
