Effects of ligustrazine on the expression of nuclear factor-kappa B and iNOS in rats with acute kidney injury induced by Paraquat

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects of ligustrazine on nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-кB) and inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS) in rats with kidney injury induced by Paraquat.Methods 50 Sprague-Dawley(SD) rats were randomly divided into five experimental groups: blank group,negative control group,positive control group,low-dose of ligustrazine group(LDG) and high-dose of ligustrazine group(HDG).Macroscopicand histopathological examinations were performed.In the mean time,the activities of hepatic tissue homogenate NF-кB and iNOS were measured.Results Compared with that in negative control group,nephredema of low-dose of ligustrazine group were mitigated,and the contents of NF-кB and iNOS were significantly decreased(P0.01).That of high-dose of ligustrazine group did not changed significantly.Conclusions NF-кB and iNOS could play an important role in kidney injury of poisoned rats.Ligustrazine could ameliorate the kidney injury and decrease the concentrations of NF-кB and iNOS.
